The 22 numbered heads are broadly usable across the cataloged roles. Headgear and uniforms are more restrictive: commander items belong to Army Commander, tank equipment belongs to Crewman and Tank Commander, flight helmets and coveralls belong to helicopter roles, and recon camouflage is usually restricted to Sniper or recon roles. Check the expanded list instead of assuming that every US or NVA item fits every class.
How the cosmetics look in play
Character customization is divided into heads, helmets, and uniforms. Heads change the soldier’s face. The helmet category also contains caps, boonies, flight helmets, and tank crew headgear. Uniforms change the body outfit. US and NVA selections remain separate, and some items are limited to specific battlefield roles.
Boat Crew uniforms
The US Army Boat Crew and NVA Boat Crew are different uniforms with different entitlement paths. The US Army Boat Crew Uniform was a preorder reward; it should not be presented as a guaranteed item for someone buying the game after launch. The NVA Boat Crew Uniform is listed with Deluxe content and is also discussed in the 2026 Field Supplies guide.
Role compatibility is also different. Dexerto’s checked catalog lists US Boat Crew for Assault, Engineer, Grenadier, Heavy Machine Gunner, Medic, Rifleman, Specialist, and Squad Leader. NVA Boat Crew additionally lists the three mortar roles. These role lists describe where the cosmetic can be equipped, not what the role can do.
Players deciding whether either outfit is worth paying for should first establish whether the item is included in their current storefront package. A picture in an old preorder graphic is not proof that a new purchase still grants that reward.
Navy SEALs and Green Berets
For the query hll vietnam navy seals, the important distinction is availability versus announcement. The official edition listings describe a Green Berets and Navy SEALs uniform pack planned for Q4 2026 as part of the staged 2026 Field Supplies content. A Q4 window means October through December; it is not an exact release date.
These uniforms are cosmetic themes, not new Navy SEAL or Green Beret gameplay factions, campaigns, maps, or stronger classes. Until the live store or an official release note marks the pack as delivered, do not treat concept artwork or the Deluxe purchase as proof that the individual uniforms can already be equipped. Deluxe Edition and Field Supplies
Deluxe combines the base game with named cosmetic content. It does not add weapons, maps, roles, health, damage, or faster progression. Its value depends on whether the NVA Boat Crew Uniform and staged ANZAC/NVA and Green Berets/Navy SEALs packs matter to you.
Standard Edition contains the core game without the listed Field Supplies package. Before paying the premium, check which scheduled packs have actually arrived and compare the live included-items list in the same regional store.
How to play HLL Vietnam with a cosmetic
A cosmetic is equipped through character customization for a compatible faction and role; it does not change the first-match loop. If your real question is how to play HLL Vietnam, start with the beginner guide: complete the appropriate tutorial, join an infantry squad, select a basic role, spawn near the unit, and follow the active objective.
If an item does not appear, confirm the current faction, selected role, edition or DLC entitlement, and whether a scheduled pack has been released. Do not reinstall the game before separating a role-compatibility problem from an ownership or delivery problem.
Is there a solo campaign for unlocking skins?
No confirmed solo campaign is used to unlock these cosmetics. Hell Let Loose: Vietnam is built around online 50v50 PvP, and its tutorial is onboarding rather than a single-player story campaign. Players searching for solo campaign information should use the co-op and single-player guide before buying.
Cosmetics do not create an offline progression mode. Buy the game for its multiplayer battles and treat cosmetic packs as optional appearance content, not as campaign access.
