Vietnam and the original game are different products
Older Hell Let Loose support pages describe cross-platform limits for the original World War II game. Hell Let Loose: Vietnam is a separate release with its own store listings and crossplay documentation. Do not copy the original game’s PC-versus-console limitation into an answer about Vietnam.
Cross-platform multiplayer connects PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S players. All three platforms can enter the shared server pool. Crossplay does not automatically transfer purchases or progression.
Platforms in the crossplay pool
The game is released on PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S. Players from those platforms can share matches when they select a compatible crossplay server. Each player still launches the game through their own platform account.
Use the current in-game platform icons and server browser to confirm an individual server. A general feature badge does not mean every community server uses identical restrictions. Server configuration, capacity, and current filters still affect where a player can connect.
Fast answer for a mixed-platform group
If one friend is on PC and another is on PS5 or Xbox Series, enable crossplay and choose a server whose platform icons include all three. If everyone is on console, a console-only option may be useful when the live browser exposes one, but it is not a permanent availability guarantee from the playtest evidence. Compare the server list together before forming a squad.
Console-only servers
Official crossplay testing offered some console-only servers, which shows that the developers recognized demand for a console-limited environment. This does not prove that the final server list always contains the same number of console-only options or that the filter name stayed unchanged. Check the current browser.
When documenting a server, capture its platform icons, region, and relevant filter. Do not infer a PC-only or console-only rule only from the players currently visible. The interface or official server description is the authority.
How to use crossplay
Open the multiplayer settings and server browser, then use the crossplay control, platform filter, or platform icons to choose the server pool. When joining friends, add or select them through the game’s social interface before entering a server. Everyone still needs access to the same server and enough room on the same faction and squad.
Enable crossplay, choose a server that permits every platform in the group, and use the in-game social interface to assemble the group. Platform icons in the browser show which pool a server uses. If friends see different lists, compare the active crossplay filters.
Crossplay is not cross-progression
Playing together and carrying progress between platforms are separate features. Crossplay means players can share a match; it does not by itself mean that purchases, unlocks, or progression transfer between storefronts. Treat each platform purchase as separate unless its store explicitly includes another device.
Xbox Play Anywhere applies inside the supported Microsoft ecosystem. It does not make a Steam profile transfer to PlayStation or Xbox. Crossplay and cross-progression are separate features.
Voice and server considerations
Cross-platform squads still depend on in-game voice and server connectivity. A failed microphone does not mean crossplay itself is disabled. Check the voice indicator, selected channel, and input device separately.
Likewise, one failed server is not proof that two platforms cannot play together. Test another official server that visibly supports the same platform combination. Record the error, icons, region, and time if the problem persists.
Crossplay summary
The shared crossplay pool covers PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X|S. Console-only server options let PS5 and Xbox players avoid the PC pool when those servers are selected. Crossplay changes who can share a match, not who owns the game or where progression is stored.
Use the server’s platform icons before joining so every friend selects a compatible pool. If a group cannot see the same server, compare crossplay filters first. Then confirm that the server has room for the whole group.
